PhD position in molecular electronics, Nano-Science Center & Department of Chemistry, University of Copenhagen
A 3 year PhD position in molecular electronics is currently available at the NanoChemistry group, Department of Chemistry and Nano-Science Center, University of Copenhagen. The aim of the project is to develop molecule-based electronic devices. The starting date of the position is 1 April 2017 or as soon as possible thereafter.
Area of Research
The project aims at fabricating molecule-based electronic devices, using graphene derivatives as electrode material. The project will mainly focus on the development of solid-state electronic devices, incorporating molecular monolayers and graphene electrodes, and characterization thereof. The PhD candidate will primarily work with molecular self-assembly, clean-room fabrication and electronic characterization. The activities will take place in collaboration with other members of the research group.
The preferred candidate should have an M.Sc. degree in Nanoscience, Chemistry, Physics or related fields.
Candidates with experience in: micro/nano-fabrication, electrical measurements and/or molecular self-assembly are preferred.
Further requirements are fluency in written and spoken English.
If the M.Sc. degree will be obtained after the application deadline, a written statement from the current supervisor should be attached, stating the expected date for obtaining the degree.
The successful applicant will enrol as a PhD student at the University of Copenhagen. The PhD program, in addition to the project work, comprises participation in courses and some activity as teaching assistant.

Terms of employment
The position is for a three-year period and expected to lead to a PhD degree at the University of Copenhagen.
Salary, pension and terms of employment are in accordance with the agreement between the Ministry of Finance and The Academics Central organization. The salary depends on seniority, as agreed between the Ministry of Finance and the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations.
